Dassault Falcon 10X makes first flight and aims for certification in 2027

Dassault's future top of the line, with the widest cabin in business aviation, took off for the first time on June 19 on a 2h30 flight. With 7,500 nautical miles of range and two Rolls-Royce Pearl 10X engines, the program advances towards certification scheduled for 2027.

The first 2h30 flight opens the test campaign towards certification scheduled for 2027.

The Dassault Falcon 10X, the French manufacturer's future flagship, took off for the first time on June 19, on an inaugural flight lasting two and a half hours. The milestone officially opens the program's flight test campaign, which Dassault is conducting with a goal of certification in 2027.

The 10X's central argument is the cabin. At 2.77 meters wide and 2.03 meters high, it is presented by Dassault as the widest and tallest in business aviation built for this purpose — around 20 cm wider than that of the largest direct competitor. In a market range where performance is already a given, internal space has become the main field of contention, and the 10X enters aiming exactly at this point.

In performance, the model combines a range of 7,500 nautical miles — enough to connect virtually any pair of major global centers non-stop — with a maximum operational speed of Mach 0.925 and a ceiling of 51,000 feet. Propulsion is provided by two Rolls-Royce Pearl 10X, the largest and most powerful version of the Pearl series, with more than 18,000 pounds of thrust each.

For the ultra-long-range buyer, the 10X puts Dassault back in direct contention with Gulfstream and Bombardier at the absolute top of the market. The first flight is just the beginning of a testing journey that usually takes years, but it transforms the project from a promise into a product in real development — and gives customers who have already booked a position a more concrete delivery horizon.
