Embraer launches the Phenom 300EV with automatic landing and fly-by-wire rudder
The new evolution of the world's best-selling light jet arrives for US$13.995 million, featuring Garmin Autoland, automatic braking and rudder control by wire. Embraer is pursuing FAA, EASA and ANAC certification by the end of the year, with the first deliveries scheduled for the end of 2028.

Embraer presented the Phenom 300EV on July 14, the newest evolution of the line that has supported the Brazilian manufacturer in the leadership of light jets for more than a decade. Announced for US$13.995 million, the version does not change the formula that has established the family — outstanding performance for the category and contained operating costs —, but adds a layer of cabin automation that repositions the model in the face of the competition.
The center of the ad is security. The 300EV incorporates Garmin Autoland, a system that, in the event of the pilot's incapacitation, takes control and guides the aircraft to a complete landing on a suitable runway, without human intervention. Along comes the automatic brake and, mainly, the fly-by-wire control — an unusual feature for this size and which replaces the traditional mechanical connection with electronic actuation, gaining precision and relieving the crew's workload. Embraer also promises more range and payload capacity compared to the current 300E.
For Embraer, the movement is defensive and offensive at the same time. The Phenom 300 has been, year after year, the most delivered business jet on the planet, and the manufacturer prefers to renew the platform rather than risk an entirely new project. By bringing to the light segment an automation package associated with much larger aircraft, the company raises the entry barrier for rivals such as the Cessna Citation CJ4 and the Pilatus PC-24, which compete for the same buyer.
The certification campaign will be conducted with the FAA, EASA and ANAC, with Embraer aiming for approval at the end of this year and the first deliveries planned for the end of 2028. For the Brazilian market, where the Phenom family has a significant presence, the 300EV represents a more modern replacement option within a platform already dominated by local operators and workshops — a fact that weighs heavily on those evaluating training, maintenance and resale value before changing aircraft.
